It is with an extremely heavy heart that I write today's post, but the insurmountable strength of this family is what helps us to stay Chappy Happy. Five years ago, on February 6th, 2009 dear friends of ours were forced to face a situation no parent should. In September 2008, during a diaper change, my friend noticed swelling in her sons leg. After a trip to the doctor for something believed harmless, they were told their two month old baby boy, Will, had a very rare form of cancer. Tammy and Matt, along with their two sons Ben and Max, marched forward prepared to battle this terrible disease for their brave son, Will. All the while, having enormous strength, and courage to accept that if this fight was too much for their infant child, they would do the hard, loving, unbearable task of letting him go.

Brave Will spent days, that turned into months at Albany Medical. With the loving support of their friends and family, they managed to be by Will's side, while still caring for their two young sons. At six months old, Brave Will lost his battle with cancer. It is a day etched in all of our minds forever. However, the Hladun's not only faced the unthinkable with grace, dignity, and love, but also went on to form a foundation in Will's name that is changing the lives of children facing cancer.

The Brave Will Foundation is very dear to our heart. Please take a moment to visit www.bravewill.org and consider a contribution. Chappy Happy is thrilled to be a part of the 5th Annual Evening of Will Power on April 26th in Saratoga Springs, NY.  Thank you Tammy and Matt for all you've done in Brave Will's name, you're a true inspiration! xo
